During a news conference, Atlanta police spokesman Sgt. Warren Pickard showed a sketch of the man believed to have assaulted the woman.
The 20-year-old woman told police she was with a group of friends at the Park Bench bar Aug. 13 when she decided to call an Uber for a ride home, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Instead of taking her home, the driver drove her to Chastain Park, where he assaulted her.
Pickard said Uber drivers normally park in areas where they know people may frequent, similar to taxi drivers.
“He just generally picked up on that methodology and it just so happened that she got into the car,” Pickard said.
